Douse is an animation born from the question ‘What if the sea level rose by 10 meters?’ The story follows Beertje, as the sea level overtakes her and she’s taken through the five stages of drowning by mermaids born from her dying mind. It was made by a team of three students, consisting of Anne Meilink, Mackenzie Fincham and me. My role was lead animator and I was in charge of all the rough animation and inbetweening. The film itself was fully animated in Toon Boom Harmony.
